In some cities, public parks and open spaces are being changed into gardens where local residents can grow their own fruit and vegetables. Do the advantages outweigh the disadvantages?

Today, some cities are turning public parks into gardens where people can grow fruits and vegetables.I believe the disadvantages are more serious because parks are needed for many important activities in cities.

For example, if a family grows vegetables like cucumbers or tomatoes, they don’t have to spend much in markets. This is very useful for families who have low income.

Another benefit is that gardening gives people something useful to do. Many people, especially older people, enjoy spending time outside. When they work in the garden, they move their body and breathe fresh air. This can help improve their health and make them feel less lonely. So, gardening is good for both the body and mind.

Parks are places where many people go to walk, play, or rest. For instance, in a big city like Tashkent, people already don’t have enough open space. If parks are changed, they may lose the only place where they can relax or do sports.
